Tehran (ANTARA) - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi believes that the ceasefire with the United States remains in effect, despite its instability, and assesses that diplomatic efforts are needed.

Foreign Minister Araghchi said this during a press conference on the sidelines of the BRICS member states’ foreign ministers’ meeting in New Delhi, India, as reported by RIA Novosti from Tehran, Friday.

“As you know, we are currently implementing a ceasefire (with the United States). Although it is unstable, we are trying to maintain it to provide an opportunity to find a diplomatic solution and negotiations,” Araghchi said at a press conference in New Delhi.

He added that there is no military solution to the issues concerning Iran, while emphasizing that Iran is interested in negotiations with a serious approach from the United States to the issue.
