Tehran — The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran on Sunday (8 March 2026) began using a new type of missile in the 28th wave of the Loyal Promise Operation 4. The new-generation missiles, according to the IRGC, are used to target cities in Israel and U.S. military assets in the region.

In a statement quoted by Al Mayadeen, the IRGC said it deployed the Kheibar latest-generation missiles, equipped with a very heavy warhead. The strikes were reported to target Bir al-Sabe’ and Tel Aviv, and also infrastructure at the Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan.

According to the IRGC statement, the scale and depth of Iran’s military strikes against its enemies will grow larger in the coming hours and days, in response to U.S. and Israeli aggression. Meanwhile, Iranian officials signalled willingness to continue the war, with the commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters, Major General Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi, declaring that Iran would continue to press ‘until the enemies surrender and regret.’

Aliabadi said that Iran’s weaponry is now more sophisticated and that they enjoy the flexibility and high precision of missiles and drones. He added that ‘the enemies say they know the number of missiles we have, and we tell them to keep counting them on the battlefield.’

Aliabadi further stated that the U.S. and Israel have always miscalculated, and Iran has repeatedly warned them that it will respond strongly to any enemy aggression. ‘We hope the enemies understand that we are not a people of slogans but of action.’

According to Aliabadi, Iran’s armed forces have addressed shortcomings from the 12-day war in June last year, and the enemies currently know the scale of Iran’s military power. Commenting on the crowds gathering in various cities in Iran in support of the Iranian armed forces, Aliabadi said, ‘This is a time that will go down in history, and victory will certainly be theirs and the people’s.’
