The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced that its forces have carried out retaliatory attacks against an enemy vessel, the US Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain, and a regional American airbase in Kuwait. These attacks serve as a response to two instances of US aggression targeting Iranian assets.

In a statement released by its Public Relations Office on Wednesday (3/6/2026), the IRGC stated that the escalating situation began late at night when an Iranian oil tanker was struck near the Strait of Hormuz. According to the statement, the US conducted an aggressive attack, hitting the Iranian oil tanker with aerial projectiles, resulting in damage to the ship’s engine room. The IRGC emphasised that this incident triggered a response from the Iranian Navy.

“In response to the aggression and the violation of the regulations governing the Strait of Hormuz, an American-Zionist enemy vessel named Panaya became the target of missiles launched by the IRGC Navy,” the Corps stated.
