Iran attacks three US bases in Kuwait

Tehran (ANTARA) - The Iranian military said it launched drone attacks on three United States military bases in Kuwait on Friday in retaliation for the superpower’s aggression.

“During the 25th phase of Operation Thunder, the Iranian army launched Arash drone strikes against warehouses of the terrorist US army at Camp Al-Adairi, the location of US forces at Camp Doha, and other enemy forces at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait,” according to a statement quoted by Iran’s national television station, IRIB.

“These attacks are in retaliation for the enemy’s aggression,” the statement added.

Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum on the evening of 18 June to end the war that began on 28 February. However, the US military resumed attacks on Iran from 8 July.

US Central Command claimed the strikes were in retaliation for Iran’s actions against commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

The Iranian military responded by attacking US bases across the Middle East, accusing Washington of violating the ceasefire agreement.

US President Donald Trump declared that the ceasefire was no longer in effect.
