Iran Attacks Petrochemical Industries in Four Countries
Tehran – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Sunday (5/4/2026) stated that Iran’s armed forces launched attacks on petrochemical industrial facilities in Israel, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, and Kuwait.
“This morning, the first phase of the retaliatory operation was carried out,” according to the IRGC statement, as quoted by Iran’s state television station.
“The attacks targeted Zionist targets and US economic interests in the region: the oil refinery in Haifa, gas infrastructure in the UAE, US petrochemical companies in the UAE, US petrochemical companies in Bahrain, and US petrochemical infrastructure in Kuwait,” the statement added.
Iran attacked Israeli territory and several US military targets in the Middle East in retaliation for the joint military operation launched by the United States and Israel since 28 February. The first day of the joint military action killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, while a girls’ school in southern Iran was also bombed. Iran estimates the number of fatalities from the attacks to exceed 1,200 people.
