Iran attacks enemy bases in region with missiles and drones

Istanbul (ANTARA) - The Iranian military and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a large-scale missile and drone attack on what they described as enemy bases in the region, according to a report by the Nour News Agency on Monday.

Quoting an Iranian military official, the government-affiliated news agency said the operation was carried out in response to continued American attacks on Iran.

The official said the strikes targeted locations identified based on “enemy movements” over the last 48 hours, according to the report.

Tensions in the region have risen in recent days amid tit-for-tat attacks between United States and Iranian forces.

On Sunday, Iran said it had launched attacks on US military bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan and Oman in retaliation for American strikes on a number of targets inside Iran.

Meanwhile, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said the latest strikes were aimed at further degrading what it described as Iran’s capability to attack civilian sailors and commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
