Iran asserts it will not remain unguarded against new threats

Tehran (ANTARA) - Iran’s interim Defence Minister, Brigadier General Majid Ebn-e-Reza, has stated that his country considers every threat from enemy parties to be a real threat deserving of serious attention. This statement was conveyed by Ebn-e-Reza via a message posted on his social media account on Sunday, in response to threats from parties he identified as enemies.

“Recent statements from enemies, although delivered within the framework of psychological operations and cognitive warfare, are still viewed by us as real and credible threats,” he wrote. He emphasised that Iran will not be negligent or passive. “We use every threat as a basis to increase readiness, strengthen deterrence, and develop our capabilities,” he added.

The Iranian minister’s statement comes after US President Donald Trump cancelled plans for attacks against Iranian energy infrastructure following stern warnings from Iranian officials that any new aggression from the US or Israel would be met with a firm retaliation. Furthermore, on Saturday night (1/8), Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan that Tehran remains prepared to defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security. “Any hostile action by the United States or Israel, or the involvement or cooperation of regional countries in such actions, will receive a firm and proportional response from Iran’s strong armed forces,” said Araghchi.
