Iran Appreciates Indonesia's Support and Welcomes Prabowo as Mediator
JAKARTA — The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has expressed appreciation for the consistent support of the Indonesian government and people amid the escalation of conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.
Iran also welcomed the readiness of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to take on a mediating role in efforts to resolve the conflict occurring in the Middle East.
In its statement, Iran also emphasised the importance of Indonesian officials taking a firm stance in condemning the aggression and crimes of the United States and the Zionist regime of Israel.
Iran has accused the United States and Israel of launching attacks against civilian locations in Iran, including schools, whilst residents were observing Ramadan fasting.
These attacks have been characterised as acts of aggression that violate the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Iran stated that several public facilities became targets.
In the press statement, the Iranian Embassy declared that a primary school in Minab district was completely destroyed as a result of the attacks.
The Iranian Embassy also referenced US claims that it was acting to assist the Iranian people.
However, according to Iran, such claims do not align with the impacts of the attacks on the ground.
“Now it is clear how they ‘help’ the Iranian people with missile attacks against innocent women and children,” the statement read.
Iran also linked the latest attacks to a long history of US hostility towards Iran, beginning with the 1953 coup, support during the Iraq-Iran War, the shooting down of an Iranian passenger aircraft in 1988, through to economic sanctions and various support for Israeli attacks in recent years.
