Iran Appreciates Floral Tributes and Letters from Indonesian Citizens
The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Indonesia, Mohammad Boroujerdi, has conveyed deep appreciation to the Indonesian people for the various forms of support provided amid the conflict situation his country is facing. In his statement, Boroujerdi revealed that the support has come in diverse forms, from floral tributes and letters to direct visits to the Iranian Embassy in Jakarta. ‘The honourable Indonesian people have supported us in various ways, from sending hundreds of floral tributes to sending hundreds of thousands of letters, and coming directly to the embassy to express condolences,’ he said in a social media post on @iraninindonesia on Wednesday (18/3). Boroujerdi views this form of solidarity from the Indonesian people as highly significant for the Iranian nation, especially amid conditions he described as full of pressure. He stated that the support serves as a source of moral strength for his country, particularly following casualties in the conflict, which he portrayed as a heavy situation. ‘To all of you, we extend our thanks,’ he said. In addition to expressing thanks, Boroujerdi also urged Indonesians wishing to provide aid to channel it through the official routes provided by the embassy. ‘We have announced the account number at your request to help the affected areas in Iran, available on the official embassy’s social media page,’ he said. On the same occasion, Boroujerdi also touched on the situation in Iran since the end of February. He described his country as being under intense attacks. ‘Since 28 February, my country has been under brutal and cruel attacks,’ he stated. He also claimed that several civilian facilities have been affected in the conflict, including residential areas and public infrastructure. Nevertheless, various claims regarding the conflict situation still require verification from international parties. Boroujerdi also addressed the frequent questions he receives about when the conflict will end. According to him, this has become a concern for many parties, including the international community. ‘The question often asked to me is when and how this war will end,’ he said.
