Iran and US Form Working Group to Achieve Final Peace Agreement

Doha (ANTARA) - The parties negotiating in Switzerland on Sunday have agreed to form a technical working group to formulate the terms of a final peace agreement between Iran and the United States, which is targeted to be achieved within 60 days from the start of negotiations, stated Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari.

Technical-level negotiations between Iran and the United States, alongside mediators Pakistan and Qatar, commenced on Sunday at the Bürgenstock mountain resort in Switzerland.

The talks are scheduled to be held behind closed doors and will focus on drafting the details of the agreement that will serve as the foundation for the final peace treaty.

“The formation of a special technical group has been announced to negotiate the terms of the final agreement, covering all aspects of the memorandum of understanding. Additionally, a monitoring group has also been established to oversee the implementation of the memorandum,” Al-Ansari told the Qatar News Agency.

According to Al-Ansari, this step reflects the commitment of all parties to negotiate in good faith to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable agreement.
