Iran and US Form Working Group to Achieve Final Peace Agreement

The parties negotiating in Switzerland on Sunday agreed to form a technical group to formulate the terms of a final peace agreement between Iran and the United States, which is targeted to be reached within 60 days from the start of negotiations, said Qatari Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari. Technical-level negotiations between Iran and the United States, along with mediating countries Pakistan and Qatar, began on Sunday at the Burgenstock mountain resort in Switzerland. The talks are scheduled to be held behind closed doors and focus on drafting the details of an agreement that will form the basis of a final peace deal. “The establishment of a dedicated technical group was announced to negotiate the terms of the final agreement covering all aspects of the memorandum of understanding. In addition, a monitoring group was also formed to oversee the implementation of the memorandum,” Al-Ansari told the Qatar News Agency. According to Al-Ansari, the move reflects the commitment of all parties to negotiate in good faith to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable agreement.
