Moscow (ANTARA) - Recurring statements by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte linking Europe to US and Israeli operations against Iran merely confirm that European countries are not neutral in the conflict, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said on Thursday. Rutte on Wednesday openly supported the latest US strikes against Iran and accused Tehran of violating a ceasefire. “Mark Rutte’s repeated acknowledgement of Europe’s deliberate involvement in the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran only confirms, once again, that they [Europe] are not neutral in this illegal, brutal aggression,” Baghaei said on X. On Wednesday evening, US military forces launched a series of devastating strikes against Iran. Iranian forces subsequently reported retaliatory attacks on US bases in Bahrain and Kuwait, while Iranian authorities accused Washington of violating a memorandum aimed at ending the conflict. US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Thursday that American forces had struck around 90 targets in Iran. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had responded to the US attacks with strikes on two US air bases, one in Kuwait and one in Bahrain.
