iQOO reportedly developing a new smartphone with a 9,000mAh battery
Jakarta – The electronics company iQOO is reportedly developing a new smartphone with a 9,000mAh battery. According to GSM Arena’s report on Friday, 22 May, data from the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) database of the GSM Association indicates the appearance of a phone with model number I2601, believed to be the iQOO 16, the successor to the iQOO 16. An official launch date for the iQOO 16 has not been announced, but the device is expected to arrive as early as September 2026, following Qualcomm’s release of a next‑generation flagship chipset that is said to be used on the device. The iQOO 16 is reportedly to be marketed in China, India, and several other countries. According to prior leaks, the phone, which will be equipped with a jumbo 9,000mAh battery, is expected to be priced higher than its predecessor. In China, the iQOO 16 is projected to start at 5,000 yuan (about Rp13 million) for the variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. By comparison, the iQOO 15 launched last October started at 4,100 yuan (about Rp10.6 million).
