The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) of the Republic of Indonesia has revealed that 86 recommendations from the Audit Result Report (LHP) on the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Provincial Government’s 2025 Fiscal Year financial report remain unaddressed.

NTB Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal has affirmed that the remaining recommendations will be settled promptly through the Inspectorate. "This is just the first time. God willing, we will map this out, and we are confident it will be above 85 per cent," Iqbal stated after a plenary session at the NTB Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) on Friday (5/6/2026).

Based on monitoring data for BPK recommendation follow-up as of 31 December 2025, NTB Provincial Government’s resolution achievement is considered suboptimal. From 2005 to 2024, the NTB Provincial Government had only followed up on 1,286 of a total 1,639 recommendations (78.46%). This figure remains below the BPK’s national target of 85 per cent, placing the NTB Provincial Government in 10th position out of 11 entities within NTB Province.

BPK Chairperson Isma Yatun explained that the current primary focus remains on the hundreds of unresolved recommendations. "The main priority now lies with the 338 remaining recommendations, with 252 having follow-up statuses deemed non-compliant with the recommendation, and 86 recommendations not yet acted upon," Isma Yatun stated while presenting the 2025 NTB Provincial Government LHP.

Responding to this, Iqbal emphasised that the 2025 LHP is the result of an audit on the 2024 fiscal year, predating his tenure as governor. This was cited as a contributing factor to the slow resolution of several recommendations. "So, our benchmark for the LHP will be seen next year. We have attempted to address all the findings, but it is not easy to resolve them," he said.

He added that the Inspectorate has mapped out all findings and is coordinating intensively with the BPK. One area of concern is overpayments across 15 Regional Apparatus Organisations (OPD) amounting to IDR 10.04 billion. "You all know which OPDs they are. It is not confidential. That is why we are improving governance. Because there are these overpayments. If it is not corrected, it will continue, as the same symptom from last year is still appearing this year," Iqbal declared.

Despite the numerous notes, the NTB Provincial Government still succeeded in retaining an Unqualified Opinion (WTP) from the BPK for the 2025 Fiscal Year LKPD. However, the opinion was accompanied by remarks regarding non-compliance with regulations on goods and services expenditure. The findings were spread across 15 OPDs, 2 Regional Public Service Agencies (BLUD), and 34 schools in NTB. The BPK recorded overpayments totalling IDR 10.04 billion as a result of these discrepancies.
