Police Inspector Motalip Litiloly, Head of Samapta at the Nduga Police Station, Papua Regional Police, has won the 2026 Hoegeng Award in the Border and Remote Police category. Iptu Motalip emphasised his core principle during his service: always working with heart.

He shared this during the peak ceremony of the 2026 Hoegeng Awards at The Tribrata Darmawangsa in South Jakarta on Friday (31/7/2026). Iptu Motalip also adheres to a humanist approach in serving the community.

“With all due respect, General, while we may be motivated by the awards available, our principle in Nduga Regency is only one: to work with heart. There should be no violence against the people of Nduance, General,” said Iptu Motalip.

During the event, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo asked Iptu Motalip if he had any specific requests. He responded by requesting the construction of official housing at the Nduga Police Station.

“General, looking at the current condition of personnel at the Nduga Police Station, we do not yet have housing for barracks; even the officers’ quarters are shared by three people. The non-commissioned officers’ barracks are like being on a ship. I request, General, that if possible, the Nduga Police Station can be properly established, including official housing for our personnel there,” Motalip replied.

“Deputy Chief of Police, Astama Rena, and Aslog, please convene a meeting immediately regarding this troop’s request,” General Sigit responded.

Additionally, Iptu Matalip expressed his hope that his daughter could follow in his footsteps by joining the Indonesian National Police (Polri).

Regarding the Hoegeng Awards, the programme is a collaboration between detikcom and the Indonesian National Police to honour exemplary officers. There are five categories for the 2026 Hoegeng Awards: Dedicated Police, Innovative Police, Integrity Police, Police Protector of Women and Children, and Border and Remote Police.

The selection process began with public nominations starting 27 January 2026, receiving approximately nine thousand names by the closing date on 2 April 2026. The final nominees were selected by an Expert Board comprising figures such as former KPK official Dr. Mas Achmad Santosa, Kompolnas member Gufron Mabruri, and the Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Dr. Habiburokhman.
