IPTN-Europe opens branch

JAKARTA (JP): The state-owned aircraft manufacturer PT Industri Pesawat Terbang Nusantara (IPTN) will soon open a branch office in Bandung, West Java, for its German-based subsidiary, IPTN-Europe GmbH.

The branch office in Bandung, according to the Antara news agency, is expected to assist IPTN-Europe's legal and financial administration and provide the company with the latest data on the development of IPTN's products.

IPTN's management appointed Salomo Pandjaitan the president and chief executive officer of IPTN-Europe, C.J. Spies the vice president for sales and marketing, Samsurizal the head of procurement, Evan Elvino the head of finance, and Brigitte Uben the executive secretary.

Meanwhile, Darwin Taher was appointed the company's vice president for European Liasons and will be in charge of IPTN- Europe's office in Bandung.

IPTN-Europe is a joint venture between IPTN and Aircraft Services Lemwerder (ASL). It was established in June, 1995, when IPTN acquired a 25.1 percent share in ASL.

ASL is the sole distributor of IPTN's N-250 aircraft in Europe, while IPTN is the sole distributor for ASL's products in Southeast Asia. (pwn)
