iPhone XX Rumour: Special 20th Anniversary Model?
Apple is reportedly preparing a special iPhone to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the iPhone in 2027. The device is said to be named ‘iPhone XX’ or ‘iPhone 20’. Rumours of the iPhone XX’s design have surfaced online, revealing details of Apple’s new-generation device. According to supply chain leaks, Apple is testing a new design for the iPhone XX that differentiates it from current models. One change includes a quad-curve display, with curves on all four sides. Additionally, Apple is reportedly developing under-display Face ID technology, which could slim down the Dynamic Island feature, resembling the punch-hole displays seen on Android phones. If accurate, this would mark a significant shift since the iPhone X introduced the notch in 2017. Other changes involve a thinner display using Colour Filter on Encapsulation (CoE) technology combined with enhanced anti-reflective layers. This combination is expected to produce a cleaner, lighter screen with reduced glare. Rumours also suggest Apple will incorporate a capacitive slide-state button to replace physical buttons. In terms of cameras, the iPhone XX is said to feature three lenses like current Pro models. However, leaked prototype designs show only two rear cameras. This has sparked speculation that the 20th-anniversary iPhone could be a special edition distinct from the Pro range. Despite these leaks, the information remains preliminary. Apple typically tests multiple prototypes before finalising a product’s design. However, if most leaks prove accurate, the iPhone XX could represent one of the most significant design changes in iPhone history, featuring a futuristic look long anticipated by Apple fans.
