iPhone Rental Services Surge Ahead of Eid Holidays, Here Are the Prices
Jakarta — With the Eid season upon us, the tradition of returning to one’s hometown comes with more than just family reunions. Many migrant workers feel compelled to project success through their appearance, gifts, or stories about their urban lives and careers, driven by social expectations from family and their local communities.
Due to these social pressures, iPhone rental services consistently experience high demand ahead of Eid. Numerous Instagram and TikTok accounts are offering iPhone rentals for holiday documentation, family gatherings, and social media content during the festive season. Rental fees start from Rp35,000 for three hours.
Sewa iPhone Aja Bekasi, operated by Fika Fitrianesia, provides various iPhone models ranging from iPhone XR available in two colours at approximately Rp110,000 for 12 hours, to the latest models such as iPhone 13, iPhone 14, and iPhone 15 Plus.
The rental owner notes that demand during Eid is consistently high. “Alhamdulillah, we’re always sold out. During Eid, some customers typically rent for one day, but with us the minimum is two days. The longest rental we’ve had went up to 14 days,” she told CNBC Indonesia.
Regarding the most sought-after models, she indicated that this year’s trend has shifted towards newer series. “This year it’s (iPhone) 13 and 14. Last year it was 11 Pro,” she added.
Beyond Bekasi, similar trends are evident on TikTok. The account @gavv_phone offers iPhone rentals starting from Rp35,000 for three hours, with options including iPhone 11 and iPhone 13 available for hourly or 24-hour rental schemes.
Additionally, other accounts such as Sewa iPhone Juragan Temanggung and Semarang even offer special Eid packages with durations of three to six days, with varying prices depending on the device model.
This phenomenon demonstrates increasing consumer demand for high-quality camera devices to capture Eid moments. Rather than purchasing new units costing tens of millions rupiah, many people opt for short-term rental options that are considered more economical and convenient.
