iPhone Fold Production Delayed, Launch Still on Schedule

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Production of the iPhone Fold is reported to be experiencing delays, although the launch of the foldable phone is still scheduled for autumn 2026. Citing MacRumors on Tuesday, the production schedule for the iPhone Fold is estimated to be pushed back by about one to two months. Apple had previously planned to begin mass production in June 2026, but it is now expected to start in early August. Apple has not yet informed suppliers of changes to the iPhone Fold launch schedule, so the company is still striving to meet the 2026 release target with a tighter production timeline. Previously, Japanese media outlet Nikkei reported that technical hurdles could potentially delay the iPhone Fold launch until 2027. However, Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman states that the phone is still on track for launch alongside or shortly after the iPhone 18 Pro series in September 2026. This production delay could affect its availability in the market. If supplies are limited, the iPhone Fold is expected to face shortages at launch and may sell out quickly during pre-orders. In terms of specifications, the iPhone Fold is anticipated to feature a screen of about 5.5 inches (13.97 cm) when folded and 7.8 inches (19.8 cm) when unfolded. The phone is said to be priced in the range of $2,000 (Rp34.2 million) to $2,500 (Rp42.8 million), making it one of the premium products in the iPhone lineup.
