iPhone Fold Expected to Launch on Time in September 2026

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Apple is reportedly set to release its foldable phone, the iPhone Fold, on time in September 2026, following the standard iPhone launch schedule. This news was reported by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, as covered by Macrumors on Tuesday (7/4) local time. According to the report, the iPhone Fold will be available for sale around the same time or shortly after the iPhone 18 Pro model hits the market. A Nikkei report had previously explained Apple’s delay in launching the iPhone Fold due to more complex engineering issues that required longer resolution time than anticipated. This aligns with Gurman’s report from two weeks ago, where he stated that the iPhone Fold might ship later than the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, but it appears Apple’s plans have changed. This is consistent with information from Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo, who in December 2025 mentioned that production challenges could limit supply and lead to shortages of the iPhone Fold, though he did not mention a launch delay. Gurman stated that although Apple currently intends to start selling the iPhone Fold alongside the iPhone 18 Pro, the company’s plans could still change and “the launch timing is not yet final.” Yesterday, leaked information showed that Apple has begun trial production. With numerous reports emerging about early manufacturing trials, it appears Apple is proceeding with its standard launch process.
