iPhone Duo vs Galaxy Z Fold 8 Battery Comparison Finally Revealed

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Apple has never disclosed the battery capacity of all its devices. Even so, many people are keen to know their capacity and battery life.

The latest information on the iPhone Duo’s battery capacity has been disclosed by the European Union. The region’s energy-label database states that Apple’s first foldable phone has a 4,883mAh battery.

That is slightly higher than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8, which has a typical capacity of 4,800mAh and a rated capacity of 4,660mAh. Android Authority noted that the iPhone Duo’s typical battery capacity could reach 5,000mAh.

However, its capacity remains lower than that of foldable phones from some other manufacturers. Xiaomi’s 18 Fold, for example, has a 6,000mAh battery, while the Huawei Pura X Max has a 5,300mAh battery.

The iPhone Duo is rated for 1,000 charging cycles before its battery capacity falls to 80%. This would correspond to a lifespan of around 51,500 hours.

That is below the Z Fold 8’s rating of 1,200 charging cycles, or 58,800 hours. In terms of battery life, however, the iPhone Duo is said to last up to 51 hours and 30 minutes per cycle, compared with 49 hours and 10 minutes for the Z Fold 8.

Introduced last September, the iPhone Duo is Apple’s first foldable phone. It is also the thinnest iPhone to date.

Its external display measures 5.4 inches, while the inner screen is 7.6 inches. Apple has fitted it with an A20 Pro chip, a specially designed thermal management system and a dual-battery architecture.

The price is substantial, starting at US$1,999 (around Rp36 million). Pre-orders have opened in several countries, including the US, Australia, South Korea and China.

The new phone is expected to become available in early 2027. So far, there has been no official information on when the iPhone Duo will be available to order or go on sale in Indonesia.
