iPhone Duo to Get Apple Pencil Support Next Week via iOS 27.2
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Apple is reportedly set to introduce Apple Pencil stylus support for the iPhone Duo earlier than initially expected, through the iOS 27.2 operating system update scheduled for release next week.
According to a Gizmochina report on Wednesday (21 October), when the device officially goes on sale to consumers on Friday (23 October) with iOS 27.1 pre-installed, the Apple Pencil will not yet be compatible with the iPhone Duo.
However, full Apple Pencil support is reportedly available in the iOS 27.2 Release Candidate (RC), and the update is expected to launch on Monday (26 October), or earlier than the previously anticipated December 2026 release.
The move is necessary because the iPhone Duo’s design has no dedicated magnetic area for attaching and charging the Apple Pencil Pro, meaning a USB-C cable is required to connect and charge it.
Users can use the Apple Pencil to draw, take notes and navigate on both the inner and outer displays of the iPhone Duo, offering an iPad-like productivity experience in a foldable phone.
