IPDN Graduates Urged to Be Present When People Face Hardship

President Prabowo Subianto has urged 1,204 young civil servants (Pamong Praja Muda) graduating from the Institute of Domestic Governance (IPDN) not to be mere desk-bound administrators. They are required to be present among the people, especially when citizens face difficulties. The message was delivered by Prabowo during the inauguration of the IPDN’s 33rd cohort at the Jatinangor campus in Sumedang Regency, West Java, on Wednesday (29/7). ‘You must become Pamong Praja who are present when the people are facing hardship. You must be a beacon of hope, a pillar of support and leadership for the community,’ Prabowo said. According to Prabowo, becoming a pamong praja is not a light calling. The graduates will face demands to maintain discipline, loyalty, and integrity, while also driving development in various regions. He reminded them that the oath they took carries significant consequences. They are not only obliged to carry out government administration but must also serve and become role models for society. ‘You have chosen to be ready to sacrifice your body and soul for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. Your life is filled with demands from the nation and state,’ he stated. During the oath-taking, the young civil servants declared their readiness to carry out governmental duties, safeguard Indonesian unity, and prioritise the interests of the state, nation, and people. The 1,204 graduates consisted of 728 male and 476 female civil servants who completed the Applied Bachelor’s Programme in Governmental Science. At the ceremony, Prabowo also presented rank insignias to three recipients of the Sapta Abdi Praja award: Aji Bayu Ramadhan, Charina Anggie Simbolon, and Mohamad Toriq Anwar. Prabowo congratulated all graduates who have now officially entered the world of governance, affirming that choosing to become a pamong praja means choosing a path of service to the people, nation, and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
