The Institute of Public Administration (IPDN), under the auspices of the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs, is among the many official service schools opening admissions this year. Naturally, there are requirements that applicants must fulfil.

IPDN 2026 Applicant Requirements

The complete requirements that IPDN 2026 applicants must fulfil are set out in the Minister of Home Affairs Circular Number 800.1.2.2/5875/SJ concerning the Implementation of the IPDN 2026 Cadet Candidate Admission Selection. The details are as follows:

General Requirements

  • Indonesian citizen (WNI).

  • Minimum age 16 years and maximum 21 years.

  • Minimum height for men is 160 cm, while for women it is 155 cm.

Administrative and Document Requirements

  • Possess a Senior High School (SMA) or Islamic Senior High School (MA) certificate with an average score of 73.00. For the Papua provinces, the minimum average score is 65.00.

  • Not a graduate of a Vocational High School (SMK) or Package C.

  • If the certificate is from abroad, it must be validated with a statement of equivalence.

  • If the certificate has not yet been obtained, SMA/MA graduates of 2026 may use a Certificate of Graduation (SKL) that includes the final assessment results for grade 12 and is signed by the head teacher and stamped with a wet seal.

  • For the English subject specifically, the minimum score is 75.00, with an exception for graduates from the Papua provinces.

  • Applicants must have been domiciled for at least 1 year up to the time of registration in the regency/city of the province where they are registering. This must be evidenced by attaching a Family Card (KK) and Electronic Identity Card (KTP). A Child Identity Card (KIA) may also be used if the applicant is not yet 17 years old.

  • Applicants who have been domiciled for less than 1 year in the regency/city of the province where they are registering may still take part in the selection. The conditions are: (1) attending SMA/MA in the regency/city of the province where they graduated, (2) biological parents originating from the regency/city of the province where they are registering, or (3) biological parents carrying out state duties in the regency/city of the province where they are registering.

  • Indigenous Papuan (OAP) applicants must attach an OAP certificate signed by the chairperson or member of the Papuan People’s Assembly. The letter must also be stamped with a wet seal.

  • Prepare a 2026 Integrity Pact which can be downloaded from the official page spcp.ipdn.ac.id.

  • Have an active email address.

  • A colour passport photo measuring 4x6 cm with a red background, facing forward, not wearing glasses, and wearing a long-sleeved white shirt.

Other Requirements

  • Not currently involved in a criminal case or ever convicted of a crime.

  • No tattoos. For men specifically, no piercings or piercing scars on the ears or other parts of the body. This provision is waived if related to religious or customary matters.

  • Not wearing glasses or contact lenses.

  • Never been married. Female applicants must never have been pregnant or given birth.

  • Never been dishonourably dismissed as an IPDN Cadet or as a student from another higher education institution.

Requirements if Accepted as an IPDN Cadet Candidate

  • Not permitted to withdraw.

  • Willing not to marry during the education period.

  • Willing to be appointed as a Civil Servant Candidate (CPNS)/Civil Servant (PNS) and assigned/posted throughout the territory of the Republic of Indonesia.

  • Willing to be placed at all IPDN campuses during the learning process.

  • Willing to comply with the regulations in force at IPDN.

  • Willing to be dismissed as an IPDN Cadet if proven to have committed a disciplinary violation.
