Ipda Aris Faces Eight-Year Sentence in the Death of Brigadier Nurhadi
The prosecutor demanded that Ipda I Gde Aris Chandra Widianto be sentenced to eight years in prison in the case of the death of Brigadier Muhammad Nurhadi in Gili Trawangan, North Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. In addition to the prison sentence, Aris was also charged with paying hundreds of millions of Rupiah in restitution to the victim’s wife.
The indictment was read by prosecutor Ahmad Budi Muklish during a hearing at the Mataram District Court, Thursday (February 26, 2026). In this case, Aris was found guilty of committing aggravated assault and obstructing the investigation or concealing evidence.
“Sentencing the defendant to eight years in prison, less the time the defendant has served,” said Ahmad Budi Muklish, the prosecutor, in the Mataram District Court courtroom, Thursday (February 26, 2026).
The prosecutor stated that Aris violated Article 468 Paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code and Article 221 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 20 letters a or c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
In addition to the prison sentence, Aris was charged with paying compensation or restitution to Elma Agustina, the wife of Brigadier Muhammad Nurhadi, in the amount of Rp 385,773,589. The amount of restitution is based on the assessment of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) Number: R.6128/5.2.HSKR/LPSK/10/2025 dated October 16, 2025.
The prosecutor stated that if the restitution is not paid within 30 days, Aris’s assets or income may be seized and auctioned to fulfill the obligation.
“If it is not sufficient or not possible to carry out, the defendant will be subject to a substitute prison sentence of two years,” he said.
Ipda Aris is a defendant along with Kompol I Made Yogi Purusa Utama. The charges against both of them were read separately during the trial.
Brigadier Nurhadi died at Villa Tekek The Beach House Resort, Gili Trawangan, on Wednesday (April 16, 2025) night. At that time, the victim was at the location with Kompol Yogi and Ipda Aris after a drinking and drug party.
In the incident, two women, Misri Puspita Sari and Meylani Putri, were also present. Both are said to have been hired by Kompol Yogi and Ipda Aris.
In this case, Misri Puspita Sari has also been named a suspect. However, the trial process has not yet begun and the case file has only recently been declared complete.
