IPCO, Cisco's project in RI
SINGAPORE (Dow Jones): Singapore IPCO International Ltd. said
Wednesday it has picked Cisco Systems Inc. as its technology
provider for an Internet Protocol Network project in Indonesia.
This is the first of the series of IP infrastructure projects
IPCO plans in the region.
The new IP Network will be built using Cisco Multi Protocol
Label Switching technology, which is capable of prioritizing and
delivering applications at guaranteed bandwidths and speeds of up
to 100 times faster than conventional networks in Indonesia, the
company said.
The network will be marketed as Neuviz-Network and will serve
more than 50 commercial buildings in Jakarta's central business
district. It is expected to cover most cities in the country by
2003.
The Indonesia project will be carried out by IPCO's unit P.T.
Prestasi Cipta Pertiwi. It is scheduled for completion in the
fourth quarter.
