Jakarta — IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK), a subsidiary of Pelindo, has endorsed the government’s policy on restricting freight transport operations ahead of the 2026 Eid holiday period.

“We support the policy restricting freight transport operations by adjusting our operational patterns and calling upon service users to arrange container pickup and delivery activities earlier,” said IPC TPK Corporate Secretary Pramestie Wulandary in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

Pramestie stated that IPC TPK continues to strengthen terminal operations to ensure smooth container traffic flow, particularly ahead of the Eid holiday period.

The company is optimising terminal facilities and improving productivity of cargo handling equipment across various operational areas. Additionally, IPC TPK is reinforcing workplace health and safety standards to ensure all operational activities proceed safely, efficiently, and sustainably.

Logistics activity during the early Ramadan period continues to show positive trends across IPC TPK’s operational regions. Through February 2026, the company recorded container throughput of 600,416 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units), up 8.7 per cent compared with the same period last year.

On a monthly basis, February 2026 container throughput reached 300,525 TEUs, growing 10.6 per cent compared with February 2025’s figure of 271,521 TEUs. This performance reflects sustained logistics activity across the company’s operational regions at the start of the year.

The Tanjung Priok terminal cluster remains the largest contributor to container throughput. Through February 2026, Tanjung Priok 1 recorded container throughput of 208,198 TEUs, up approximately 14 per cent from 182,727 TEUs in the corresponding period last year. Tanjung Priok 2 recorded container throughput of 286,613 TEUs, up 6.9 per cent from 268,127 TEUs previously.

The Ministry of Transport has previously announced freight transport operational restrictions implemented by the government to ensure safety and smooth homecoming and return traffic during the 2026 Eid holiday period. This follows implementation of a joint ministerial decision on traffic management and crossings during the 2026 Eid holiday period, signed by the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Public Works, and the National Traffic Police (Korlantas).

Korlantas identified five focus areas for security monitoring: expressways, national and district roads, ferry terminals, places of worship, and tourism destinations. These have been designated as special priorities prepared by Korlantas in support of the 2026 Ketupat Operation.
