Jakarta (ANTARA) - IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) has recorded throughput realization up to April 2026 reaching 1,159,575 TEUs, an increase of 6.7 percent compared with the same period last year at 1,086,766 TEUs. ‘Optimization and service efficiency we continue to uphold to support smooth flow of goods and maintain national logistics competitiveness,’ said Daniel Setiawan, Senior Manager of the Corporate Secretariat IPC TPK, in a press release received in Jakarta, on Tuesday. The increase in IPC TPK throughput aligns with the trend of growth in national trade. Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows Indonesia’s import value for January–March 2026 grew by 10.05 percent year on year, while the national trade balance still records a surplus of 5.55 billion US dollars. On the other hand, amid the dynamics of the global supply chain which still face challenges, including rising logistics costs and uncertainty in shipping routes due to escalation of conflict in the Middle East region, these conditions also affect global sea shipping activity and prompt adjustments to several international maritime routes. Nevertheless, IPC TPK continues to maintain service reliability and operational efficiency to ensure smooth flows of goods remain assured. Year-on-year, the performance improvement in April 2026 is very significant, at 26.78 percent compared with the previous year. In April 2026, operating performance recorded 308,810 TEUs, up sharply from April 2025’s 243,579 TEUs. The highest increase occurred in the Tanjung Priok area, particularly in IPC TPK Area Tanjung Priok 2 which grew 36.7 percent and Area Tanjung Priok 1 by 24.3 percent. The growth is driven by additional ad hoc services and increased volumes from a number of shipping lines.
