IPC TPK Panjang Container Traffic Surges 73.7% in June 2026

IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) Panjang recorded a stellar performance in mid-2026, posting a 73.7% surge in container traffic in June compared to the same period the previous year. The significant increase was fuelled by high trade activity in Lampung and its surrounding areas, reflected in the rapid growth of international container traffic for exports and imports, as well as strengthened logistics interconnectivity for the domestic sector. “This growth confirms that Panjang Port is playing an increasingly strategic role as the main gateway for goods in the southern part of Sumatra. The extraordinary surge in container traffic in June is a tangible result of the company’s commitment to responding adaptively to logistics market dynamics,” said Senior Manager of Corporate Secretariat IPC TPK, Daniel Setiawan, in a written statement on Thursday, 30 July 2026. The surge was specifically driven by the addition of an ad hoc vessel by Pulau Laut Lines, which helped meet international shipping capacity needs, and the opening of a new service by PT Buaya Mas Prima, which directly boosted inter-island domestic container traffic. This operational success was fully supported by the terminal’s reliable loading and unloading systems and close collaboration between IPC TPK, shipping partners, and all port stakeholders. “We hope the expansion of shipping networks by our partners will spur sustainable regional economic growth, while strengthening IPC TPK Panjang’s contribution to facilitating supply chain fluidity at the southern gateway of Sumatra,” Daniel added.
