IPC TPK Panjang Container Flow Surges 73.7 Percent, Logistics Activity Increases

IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) Panjang recorded a 73.7 percent growth in container throughput in June 2026 compared to the same period last year. The increase reflects the strengthening of logistics and trade activity in the Lampung region and southern Sumatra. The rise in container flow was driven by increased export-import activity and domestic distribution, reinforcing the role of the Port of Panjang as a national logistics hub. IPC TPK Corporate Secretariat Senior Manager Daniel Setiawan said the growth demonstrates the increasingly strategic position of the Port of Panjang as a gateway for goods in the southern region of Sumatra Island. “This growth confirms that the Port of Panjang holds an increasingly strategic role as the main gateway for goods in the southern gateway of Sumatra Island. The surge in container flow in June is the result of the company’s commitment to responding to logistics market dynamics adaptively,” said Daniel. According to him, the increase in container flow was influenced by the addition of one ad hoc vessel by Pulau Laut Lines to support international transport capacity. In addition, the opening of a new service by PT Buaya Mas Prima also boosted inter-island domestic container traffic. This operational success was supported by the reliability of the terminal’s loading and unloading system and collaboration between IPC TPK, shipping companies, and all stakeholders at the port.
