IPC TPK Container Throughput Grows 0.9 Percent in First Quarter of 2026
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) recorded solid operational performance in the first quarter of 2026 amid the dynamics of logistics during the Eid al-Fitr period. From January to March 2026, IPC TPK booked a total container throughput of 850,768 TEUs, up 0.9 percent from 843,187 TEUs in the same period the previous year. Corporate Secretary of IPC TPK, Pramestie Wulandary, stated that this achievement reflects the company’s operational resilience despite restrictions on goods transportation during the Eid exodus. “IPC TPK has optimised loading and unloading activities ahead of the restriction period, as well as ensuring the acceleration of goods flow after the restrictions end. This strategy has allowed us to maintain smooth distribution while minimising potential build-ups at the terminal,” Pramestie said in her statement on Wednesday (15/4/2026). Nevertheless, performance in the domestic segment showed a positive trend. Domestic container volume was recorded to increase by 3.5 percent, from 623,532 TEUs in March 2025 to 645,084 TEUs in March 2026. According to Pramestie, this increase reflects the sustained domestic distribution activities and strong domestic consumption during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. On the other hand, international container throughput experienced a decline of around 6.4 percent, from 219,655 TEUs to 205,684 TEUs. This decline was influenced by adjustments to global shipping schedules and cross-border goods distribution dynamics. IPC TPK also ensured that operations remain aligned with national policies regarding the regulation of goods transportation during the Eid period. Intensive coordination was carried out with regulators and stakeholders to maintain a balance between logistics smoothness and public mobility. In addition, terminal services continued to operate fully 24 hours a day and seven days a week (24/7) across all work areas. “The Eid al-Fitr momentum is an opportunity for us to strengthen our adaptive and integrated operational system. Going forward, IPC TPK will continue to strengthen collaboration and data-based planning to ensure national logistics smoothness and support Indonesia’s economic growth,” Pramestie said. By region, throughput growth was recorded evenly across several operational areas. The Tanjung Priok area grew 1 percent, Pontianak 1.6 percent, Panjang 2 percent, and Teluk Bayur recorded the highest growth of 5.3 percent.
