IPB University to use FiAC 2026 as a driver for impactful research

Bogor (ANTARA) - The Southeast Asian Food and Agricultural Science and Technology Development Centre (SEAFAST), alongside the International Research Institute for Food, Nutrition, Health and Halal (LRI PGLE) at IPB University, is positioning the 9th Asian Food Raw Materials International Conference (FiAC) 2026 as a driver for impactful research.

“FiAC serves as an opportunity to bring research findings together with real-world needs,” said the Head of SEAFAST IPB University, Dr Puspo Edi Giriwono, in Bogor on Saturday.

Scheduled to be held at the Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO) Kemayoran, Jakarta, from 16–18 September 2026, the conference will provide a collaborative space to strengthen food innovation based on scientific evidence, nutrition, health, and sustainability.

The event is also a result of collaboration with the Indonesian Association of Food Technologists (PATPI/IAFT), the Indonesian Food and Beverage Manufacturers Association (GAPMMI), and the Division of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, IPB University.

“This is an opportunity to communicate, ask questions, listen, and seek solutions together,” he added.

FiAC 2026 will bring together academics, industry leaders, government officials, professional associations, students, and young researchers through plenary and technical sessions, poster presentations, student competitions, nutraceutical programmes, academia-to-business initiatives, and a halal forum.

The conference will also feature Dr Ranjan Jha from Nutrition International, discussing food fortification within food system transformations, as well as Han Yin Leong from Food Industry Asia, who will address food processing for fortification, reformulation, and the improvement of public nutrition.
