IPB University introduces EV charging stations to support electric vehicle ecosystem

Bogor (ANTARA) - IPB University has collaborated with PLN and PT PUI to introduce a Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLE) in the Bank BNI area of the Dramaga Campus, Bogor Regency, to support the electric vehicle ecosystem.

“We hope this SPKLU facility can be utilised effectively and serve as a concrete step towards a more environmentally friendly and sustainable transport ecosystem,” said the Vice Rector of IPB University for Global Connectivity, Cooperation, and Alumni, Prof. Iskandar Z. Siregar, in a statement received in Bogor on Wednesday.

The facility is the result of a collaboration between IPB University, PT PLN (Persero), and PT Usaha Cuan Indonesia (UCI) to support the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem while realising a more eco-friendly and sustainable campus.

The SPKLU is equipped with two DC ultra-fast charging units, each with a capacity of 120 kW. This allows for faster electric vehicle charging, thereby supporting the mobility of the academic community as well as the public passing through the Dramaga area.

Prof. Iskandar expressed his appreciation for the efforts to prepare infrastructure within the campus to facilitate operations.
