IPB has its own slaughterhouse

BOGOR: Bogor Institute of Agriculture's (IPB) rector Ahmad
Ansori Matjik officiated on Monday a chicken slaughterhouse
within the vicinity of the IPB Darmaga campus. The slaughterhouse
will be used by the institute mostly for research purposes.

IPB collaboration and business development manager Widiyanto
Dwi Surya said the slaughterhouse was a joint project between the
IPB School of Veterinary and PT Mitra Syariah Gemilang.

"All this time, we have sent our students to slaughterhouses
in Bogor, Tangerang, Sukabumi and Tasikmalaya to learn about the
slaughtering process," he said.

The IPB slaughterhouse can accommodate 2,000 chickens per day.
