Apple has officially released the iPad Air M4 in Indonesia. The device appeared on the official Apple Indonesia distributor’s website on Wednesday (13/5/2026). In Indonesia, the iPad Air M4 is sold starting at Rp 12,599,000 for the 128 GB variant. Meanwhile, the 256 GB model is priced at Rp 14,599,000, the 512 GB version at Rp 18,599,000, and the highest 1 TB variant at Rp 22,599,000. The latest generation iPad Air brings performance improvements through the use of the M4 chip, which was previously used in Apple’s latest iPad Pro and Mac lines. Apple equips the iPad Air M4 with an 8-core CPU and 9-core GPU. The company claims its performance is up to 30 per cent faster than the iPad Air M3, and up to 2.3 times faster than the M1 chip-based model. To support artificial intelligence (AI) features, the iPad Air M4 is now equipped with 12 GB of unified memory, a 50 per cent increase from the previous generation. Its memory bandwidth also increases to 120 GB/s. The 16-core Neural Engine in the M4 chip is claimed to be three times faster than the M1. This capability supports various AI features on the device, such as text search in photos, video processing, and AI-based productivity applications. In terms of connectivity, the iPad Air M4 is the first iPad Air to use Apple’s own connectivity chip. The tablet uses the N1 chip to support Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread. For cellular models, Apple incorporates the C1X modem, which is claimed to offer up to 50 per cent faster data performance while being more power-efficient. This model also supports 5G networks and eSIM. The iPad Air M4 is also compatible with the Apple Pencil Pro and the latest Magic Keyboard, which now features a row of function keys and a trackpad.
