iOS 27 Code Hints at iPhone with Dual Battery

Jakarta (ANTARA) - New code found in the latest iOS 27 developer beta is believed to indicate the arrival of an iPhone with dual batteries.

According to a Gizmochina report on Tuesday, the clue was discovered in the Battery Health section of Settings.

Apple uses the plural form of “batteries” in the Battery Health text, whereas the company has always used the singular form for all iPhone models.

The Battery Health menu text indicating dual-battery use includes “the batteries on this iPhone are functioning normally”, “the health of the batteries on this iPhone has declined significantly”, and a warning that “one of the batteries” is not a genuine Apple component.

The use of such terminology has given rise to speculation that Apple is preparing software for a phone with two batteries, a configuration commonly employed in foldable phones to accommodate the hinge design and weight distribution of the device.

Based on leaked information shared by Digital Chat Station, the iPhone Ultra is expected to use two batteries with capacities of 1,921 mAh and 2,962 mAh, giving a total capacity of 4,883 mAh.

That battery capacity is smaller than previously rumoured, which ranged from 5,400 mAh to 5,800 mAh — slightly larger than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide’s battery, which is reported to be 4,800 mAh.

In addition, the iPhone Ultra is rumoured to come with a 7.76-inch main display and a 5.49-inch outer display.

The photography capabilities of the device are said to include a 48-megapixel main camera and a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera, with no telephoto lens owing to space constraints within the body.

Other clues in the iOS 27 code indicate several iPhone Ultra features, including variations of screen folding modes, the use of more than one display, and multitasking features designed for phones with larger screens.
