iOS 27.2 brings Siri AI upgrades and stylus support for the iPhone Duo

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Apple has officially released the iOS 27.2 operating system update for iPhones and iPads, bringing improvements to Siri’s artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, Apple Pencil stylus support for the iPhone Duo, and fixes for device security vulnerabilities.

According to a TechCrunch report on Tuesday (27 October), the iOS 27.2 update adds support for five languages to Siri AI: French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish.

Apple has also added a memory function that allows Siri to recall details from previous conversations and users’ preferences.

For the iPhone Duo foldable phone, Apple has added Apple Pencil support in the Notes and Preview apps, as well as an Edge Light effect to improve facial lighting during video calls.

FaceTime has gained a Dual Capture feature, which displays video from the front and rear cameras simultaneously during group calls. It also offers the option to add third-party sign-language interpreters or live captions.

In addition, Apple has introduced Multiview on iPhone, allowing users to watch up to four live sports broadcasts at once, including MLS, Formula 1 and MLB.

On the security front, iOS 27.2 includes more than 160 vulnerability fixes. Some of these fixes are also available to users of the previous iOS 26 operating system, which is still used by around 80 per cent of iPhone owners.

Apple has also rolled out a dedicated security update for iOS 18 users to close a critical vulnerability that could potentially be exploited in cyberattacks.
