Indonesian AI cloud platform IONext.ai (PT Data Awan Nusantara) has introduced a local AI platform aimed at helping domestic companies implement AI technology in their business operations more widely and sustainably.

Co-founder and CEO Mohamad Fachri noted that many companies have developed various AI solutions, but implementation often stalls at the trial, demonstration, or proof of concept (PoC) stage and is not yet used extensively in daily operations.

“Through IONext.ai, we want to help organisations move AI out of the experimental phase and into a reliable, efficient, and ready-to-use system,” Fachri said in a statement received on Saturday.

He explained that the challenges of implementing AI in a business environment extend beyond model capabilities to include infrastructure, data security, system stability, cost efficiency, and governance tailored to corporate needs.

Through its platform, IONext.ai provides access to various open AI models such as Qwen, DeepSeek, and Llama, all running on infrastructure operating within Indonesia.

The company views data security as one of the primary issues in enterprise AI adoption, particularly when public AI services are used to process internal documents, customer data, or sensitive business information.

To address this, the company offers a service that allows organisations to access multiple AI models through a single application programming interface (API), while computation processes run on domestic infrastructure, giving companies greater control over data location and management.

Fachri believes Indonesia needs to strengthen its AI implementation capabilities in industrial settings so that the country does not merely become a technology consumer but is also able to build and operate AI systems to support national business and industrial needs.

“Indonesia must not only be an AI consumer. We need to start building the capability to implement AI in real environments, from infrastructure and deployment to utilisation that directly helps businesses and industries,” he stated.

To support AI implementation at production scale, IONext.ai provides enterprise-class GPU infrastructure that can be used to build, train, test, and run AI models.

As part of the platform introduction, IONext.ai recently held the “AI Production at Scale Indonesia 2026” event in Jakarta, bringing together industry players, technology developers, and companies from various sectors to discuss AI implementation in production environments.

During the event, IONext.ai also introduced two supporting platforms, IONA and Orbit. IONA is designed to help companies prepare and run their AI systems, while Orbit serves as an integrated workspace to assist teams in tidying data, training models, and launching AI systems.
