The Relawan Arus Bawah Prabowo (ABP) has expressed full support for the involvement of the Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence (Jamintel) of the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) in overseeing the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG). This step is regarded as a strategic effort to ensure the programme runs transparently, accountably, and on target for the community. ABP General Chairman Michael Umbas emphasised that the involvement of Jamintel represents a strengthening of a multi-layered supervision system that is not only repressive but also preventive. “With Jamintel, supervision becomes stronger from upstream to downstream. This is important to prevent potential deviations before they become legal cases. The most important thing is that MBG should not be exploited for personal interests,” said Umbas in Jakarta on Tuesday, 24 March 2026. He explained that the supervision of MBG has now developed into a multi-layered or triple-layer system, namely through legal intelligence by the Prosecutor’s Office, financial audits by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), and public participation through community reporting. According to him, this supervision model is a progressive step because it opens up space for public involvement in monitoring the use of state funds. “Public involvement or crowd-sourced auditing is key. The public can participate in reporting suspected deviations, so supervision does not only rely on officials,” he stated. Furthermore, ABP emphasised that the MBG Programme is the top priority and mainstay of the Prabowo Subianto administration. The programme is regarded as a strategic foundation in building the quality of Indonesia’s human resources from an early age. “MBG is not just an assistance programme, but a long-term national investment in creating a healthy, intelligent, and competitive generation. This is President Prabowo’s flagship programme that must be protected together,” Umbas asserted. He added that the success of this programme will directly impact improvements in education quality, health, and national productivity in the long term. Therefore, strict supervision is key to ensuring that these grand objectives are not disrupted by deviant practices in the field. Meanwhile, the Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Dadan Hindayana, previously emphasised that his side is pushing for the involvement of the Prosecutor’s Office down to the village level to ensure the optimal, transparent, and accountable use of funds in the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG).
