Invited to the Presidential Palace, Mamah Dedeh says Prabowo outlined the Middle East conflict to ulama

Mamah Dedeh Rosidah, known as Mamah Dedeh, was among ulama invited to meet and confer with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday night. She said the President spoke about geopolitics, including the war in Iran, during a gathering and iftar with ulama and leaders of religious organisations. ‘He explained about foreign affairs, the situation abroad, about our country, about how the war is happening now,’ she said during a briefing at the Presidential Palace. Mamah Dedeh added that she left early to film for a private television station. The meeting, running from 19:00 to about 23:00 WIB, included numerous kiai and ulama from various Islamic organisations, with attendees such as Rais Aam K.H. Miftachul Akhyar of PBNU, Muhammadiyah’s Chairman Prof. Haedar Nashir, and MUI’s Chairman K.H. Anwar Iskandar, alongside ministers Muhaimin Iskandar, Saifullah Yusuf, and Nasaruddin Umar. Separate to the gathering, the Front Pembela Islam (FPI) reported sending a letter to President Prabowo requesting Indonesia withdraw from the Board of Peace (BoP). Prabowo reiterated Indonesia’s commitment to its membership of the Gaza Peace Council, the BoP, and signalled willingness to engage in dialogue with various parties involved in the Middle East conflict as part of efforts to regional peace.
