Investors win contracts to build Java toll roads
JAKARTA (JP): PT Jasa Marga, the state-owned company assigned
to manage all highways in the country, has signed eight new
revenue-sharing contracts with investors for the construction of
toll roads in Java with a total length of more than 200,000
kilometers.
Jasa Marga's president, Maryadi Darmokumoro, was quoted by
Antara as saying Friday that the first deal was signed with PT
Istaka Karya for the construction of the 28.3 kilometer Cirebon-
Palimanan segment of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road in West Java.
The contract will be valid for 15 years.
The second deal was awarded to PT Marga Nujyasumo Agung for
the 38.5 kilometer Surabaya-Mojokerto toll road in East Java for
a period of 29 years and the third to PT Hutama Karya for the
renovation of the Jagorawi (Jakarta-Bogor-Ciawi) toll road for
five years.
The fourth deal was signed with PT Intsia Pasifik Permai for
the construction of the 70 kilometer Semarang-Batang toll road in
Central Java for a period of 28 years and the fifth with PT Adhi
Karya for the construction of a nine-kilometer highway in
Semarang, Central Java, for 15 years.
The sixth contract was awarded to PT Wijaya Karya for the
establishment of the 22 kilometer Cileunyi-Nagreg toll road in
West Java for a period of 15 years and the seventh to PT Waskita
Karya for the construction of the six-kilometer toll road in
Citatah, West Java, for a period of 15 years.
The eighth deal involved several co-investors, including PT
Citra Lamtoro Gung Persada, PT Tridan Satria Putra Indonesia, PT
Bhaskara Dunia Jaya and the Tiara Indah foundation. It is not
clear which toll road this particular deal concerned. The report
only cited that the agreement is valid for a 33 year
