Investors called to Aceh

BANDA ACEH (Antara): The state electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) in Aceh gives opportunity to domestic and foreign businessmen who want to make an investment in electricity facilities in the province.

"We will facilitate investors that want to build and develop electricity in Aceh, head of the local PT PLN office Sri Djoko Pararto said here over the weekend.

Until the end of last year at least 4,011 or 73.30 percent of the 5,465 villages in the Aceh province that has 3.7 million inhabitants has already had access to electricity service.

"At least 4,011 villages have enjoyed electricity, of which 2,408 are less-developed areas," he said.

Pararto said PT PLN in Aceh and PT PLN in Medan (North Sumatra) have jointly installed an interconnection system in a bid to increase electricity service for people in the two provinces.
