Investor Interest Surges, Danantara Upsizes Global Bond Issuance to US$1.5 Billion
The Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara) has successfully recorded a strong debut in its first international bond (global bond) issuance. The high enthusiasm from global investors triggered a surge in demand of more than three times the initial target, serving as a strong signal of the world market’s confidence in Indonesia’s economic fundamentals.
Danantara Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rosan Roeslani stated that the global bond issued by his party received a positive response from investors. In fact, the surge in demand meant the amount issued had to be upsized.
Initially, Danantara planned to issue a global bond worth US$1 billion, but it was ultimately increased to US$1.5 billion. This issuance was carried out after Danantara Investment Management (DIM) obtained ratings from several international rating agencies.
“From the US$1 billion plan we wanted to achieve, the book building that came in was approximately US$4.6 billion. Seeing such high interest, we increased the value from US$1 billion to US$1.5 billion, which was divided into 5-year and 10-year tenors,” Rosan revealed at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday (15/6/2026).
The high investor interest also influenced the yield. Initially, the yield was estimated to be in the range of 6-7 percent. However, due to the abundant demand, Danantara managed to push the figure down to a more competitive level.
“Because the appetite or bids coming in were so high, we were finally able to close the 5-year tenor at 5.35 percent, and the 10-year tenor at 5.95 percent,” he explained.
The Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, who also serves as Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), assessed that the successful determination of the yield indicates that global investors have strong confidence in the investment prospects in the country.
“If they did not trust us, they would certainly ask for a very high yield premium. In this case, we even see that the yield is very competitive,” Rosan stated.
This inaugural international bond issuance worth US$1.5 billion, equivalent to Rp26.6 trillion, gained strong confidence from the international financial market. This is reflected in the peak orderbook value reaching US$4.6 billion, or approximately Rp81.7 trillion.
“The enthusiasm of global investors is evident from the peak orderbook value reaching more than three times the total issuance value. This interest was driven by quality institutional investors from the US, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia,” said Danantara Indonesia Management.
This success demonstrates that Danantara is viewed as having strong governance and long-term prospects. This international market confidence is expected to strengthen domestic investors’ belief in Danantara’s institutional framework.
Previously, on 17 March 2026, Danantara, through DIM, announced the issuance of Medium Term Notes (MTN) worth a total of Rp7 trillion. Based on data from PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI), the instrument named Long-Term Debt Securities II is divided into two series.
Series A has a principal amount of Rp3.5 trillion with a 2 percent coupon and a five-year tenor. Meanwhile, Series B has a principal of Rp3.5 trillion with a 2 percent coupon and a seven-year tenor.
In addition, Danantara has also successfully raised Rp50 trillion from the issuance of Patriot Bonds. These funds are allocated to finance new renewable energy (EBT) projects and waste-to-energy conversion projects.
