Chief Executive Officer of Danantara, Rosan Roeslani, claimed that the inaugural global bond issuance by Danantara, denominated in US dollars, was oversubscribed by more than three times. Rosan stated this demonstrates that global investor interest in Indonesia remains high.

Danantara initially targeted raising US$1 billion from the global bond. However, after Rosan conducted a series of roadshows to several global financial centres, investor demand reached US4.6billion, orapproximatelyRp81.5trillion(assuminganexchangerateofRp17, 725perUS). Consequently, the inaugural issuance was set at US$1.5 billion, or around Rp26.5 trillion.

According to Rosan, investor interest in the bonds with 5-year and 10-year tenors reflects their continued high confidence in the Indonesian market. “They even told me they are very, very open if Danantara wishes to issue bonds up to 30 years,” he said via an official statement on Monday, 15 June 2026.

The high demand, he noted, is an indicator that the international market still places great trust in Indonesia’s economic prospects. This is especially significant as the bond issuance took place amidst global economic uncertainty, rising geopolitical tensions, and pressures that had recently coloured the domestic financial market.

The inaugural bonds issued by Danantara are split into 5-year and 10-year tenors, each raising US$750 million. Rosan also revealed the success in achieving coupon rates, or interest, that were below initial market expectations. The five-year bond was set with a yield of 5.35 percent, while the ten-year bond was set at 5.95 percent.

Investors in the Danantara bonds were predominantly from the United States and Europe. For the 5-year bond, approximately 38 percent of buyers were investors from the United States, 41 percent from Europe and the Middle East, and 21 percent from Asia. For the 10-year tenor, the majority of buyers were from the US with a 52 percent share, followed by Europe and the Middle East at 31 percent, and Asia at 17 percent.
