Investment Realization in Indonesia H1 2026, Mainly for the Metal Industry
According to a report from the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), investment realization in Indonesia in the first half of 2026 reached Rp1,010.57 trillion.
This figure consists of Rp507.64 trillion in foreign direct investment (FDI) and Rp502.93 trillion in domestic direct investment (DDI).
By sector, the basic metals industry, metal goods, excluding machinery and equipment, recorded the largest investment realization, amounting to Rp150.35 trillion or 14.88% of total investment.
Then, there is another service sector that received an investment of Rp113.96 trillion. This sector includes computer repair businesses, household goods repair, and various personal service activities that are not covered in other sectors.
The following is a breakdown of investment realizations in Indonesia by sector in the first semester of 2026:
Basic metal industry, metal goods, except machinery and equipment: Rp150.35 trillion
Other services: Rp113.96 trillion
Mining: Rp104.98 trillion
Transportation, warehousing, and telecommunications: Rp102.70 trillion
Housing, industrial parks, and offices: Rp85.76 trillion
Trade and repair: Rp71.08 trillion
Food industry: Rp50.82 trillion
Chemical and pharmaceutical industry: Rp46.26 trillion
Electricity, gas, and water: Rp46.14 trillion
Food crops, plantations, and livestock: Rp34.64 trillion
Hotels and restaurants: Rp30.63 trillion
Construction: Rp25.11 trillion
Industry of machinery, electronics, medical instruments, electrical equipment, precision, optics, and watches: Rp23.53 trillion
Industry of motor vehicles and other transportation equipment: Rp20.27 trillion
Paper and printing industry: Rp19.60 trillion
Rubber and plastics industry: Rp18.31 trillion
