JAKARTA — The Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industries/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) has announced that investment realisation in the first quarter of 2025 reached Rp 465.2 trillion. This figure represents approximately 24.4% of the 2025 annual investment realisation target of Rp 1,905.6 trillion.

"This is a very encouraging figure. It demonstrates that confidence from both the international community and domestic investors in investing in Indonesia remains well maintained," said Minister of Investment and Downstream Industries/Head of BKPM Rosan Perkasa Roeslani at a press conference at the Presidential Office on Wednesday (23/4/2025).

Compared with the previous quarter's figure of Rp 401.5 trillion, this represents growth of 15.9%. Meanwhile, compared with the same period in the previous year, growth stood at 2.7%. This growth is expected to remain consistent in order to keep the investment realisation target on track through to the end of the year.

The investment realisation recorded employment absorption of 594,104 workers, an increase of 8.5% from the previous year.

"As we all know, investment is a long-term commitment. Investors see that under President Prabowo's leadership, stability, as well as peace and stability, are very well maintained, allowing incoming investment to continue in line with future targets," Rosan said.

Foreign direct investment realisation amounted to Rp 230.4 trillion, or 49.3% of total investment realisation, whilst domestic investment reached Rp 234.8 trillion, or 50.5% of the total.

In spatial terms, investment on the island of Java totalled Rp 229.3 trillion, or 49.3% of total investment realisation, whilst investment outside Java reached Rp 235.9 trillion, or 50.7% of the total.
