Investment Realisation Reaches IDR 465.2 Trillion in First Quarter of 2025, Up 15.9 Per Cent
JAKARTA - Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan Perkasa Roeslani announced that investment realisation in the first quarter of 2025 reached IDR 465.2 trillion, up 15.9 per cent year-on-year compared to the realisation in the first quarter of 2024, which amounted to IDR 401.5 trillion.
Rosan, as quoted by Antara, said that the realisation of investment in the first quarter of 2025 was in accordance with the target set by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) to the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming of the Republic of Indonesia.
"The investment in the first quarter is in accordance with the target set by Bappenas which was given to us, from the total investment target in 2025 of IDR 1,905.6 trillion. In the first quarter, the investment that has been entered, realised and issued is IDR 465.2 trillion, or approximately 24.4 per cent," said Rosan during a press conference at the Presidential Office, Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 23 April evening.
In his presentation, the realisation of IDR 465.2 trillion consisted of foreign investment (PMA) of IDR 230.4 trillion and domestic investment (PMDN) of IDR 234.8 trillion.
From within the country, the largest investment was obtained from outside Java, amounting to IDR 235.9 trillion or equivalent to 50.9 per cent of the total investment realisation in the first quarter of 2025, whilst from Java Island it was IDR 229.3 trillion, or 49.3 per cent.
"This is a very encouraging number. This also shows confidence from both the international and domestic worlds in order to invest in Indonesia. It is maintained because we all know that investment is a long-term commitment," said the Minister of Investment.
Rosan continued that the long-term commitment of the investors grew because they believed in President Prabowo Subianto's leadership. "They saw that under Mr Prabowo's leadership this was stable," he added.
On the same occasion, Rosan also emphasised that another important achievement of investment realisation in the first quarter of 2025 was employment generation over the last three months.
"The most important thing is absorption from the workforce. So from the first quarter, the absorption for the workforce generated from the investment of IDR 465.2 trillion was 594,104 people, or an 8.5 per cent increase from the previous year," said Rosan.
Rosan announced the realisation of investment in the first quarter of 2025 after reporting the achievement to President Prabowo Subianto at the Palace on Wednesday afternoon.
