The Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP) of South Kalimantan Province records that the realised investment value in 2025 has reached Rp32 trillion. Head of DPMPTSP South Kalimantan, Endri, in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, on Monday, stated that investment realisation continues to increase year on year. In 2022, the recorded investment realisation was Rp15 trillion, rising to Rp19 trillion in 2023, Rp24 trillion in 2024, and Rp32 trillion in 2025. According to him, this investment growth plays a crucial role in driving the targeted economic growth of South Kalimantan, projected to reach around 8% by 2029. “This target aligns with the regional development mission, particularly in realising sustainable, equitable, and value-based economic growth,” said Endri. He noted that the investment increase is one of the keys to boosting regional economic growth. This also aligns with national programmes to strengthen the regional economy. South Kalimantan possesses several advantages that attract investors, ranging from its strategic position as a national and international trade route, continuously developing infrastructure, to the availability of natural resources and a productive workforce. The regional government is also strengthening its commitment through the simplification of licensing services. This is implemented through regulations that provide legal certainty as well as fast, transparent, and accountable services for investors. “The regional government’s commitment to providing licensing ease is an important factor in creating a conducive investment climate,” he said. He revealed that the largest investment contributions come from several areas, including Tanah Bumbu Regency, Kotabaru Regency, and Banjarmasin City. Meanwhile, in terms of sectors, investments are still dominated by mining, followed by services, trade, and repairs. Nevertheless, the government is beginning to direct economic transformation by reducing reliance on the extractive sector. Future focus is directed towards developing potential sectors such as agriculture, forestry, fisheries, processing industries, tourism, and service-based economies. This strategy is aimed at promoting industrial downstreaming, which is believed to create added value, open up employment opportunities, and strengthen the regional economic structure sustainably. Priority investment projects have also been prepared, including the development of the tourism and hospitality sector, waste management, the construction of distribution centres, and processing industries based on local resources. In expanding promotional reach, the South Kalimantan Provincial Government is also utilising digital platforms through the “Bekantan” application, which contains various investment opportunity information. This application is expected to facilitate prospective investors in accessing regional data and potential without needing to visit in person. “Through various promotional strategies and the ease provided, we are optimistic that investments in South Kalimantan will continue to grow and contribute to improving community welfare,” said Endri. The South Kalimantan Provincial Government invites investors to participate in regional development, in line with efforts to realise South Kalimantan as the logistics gateway on Kalimantan Island towards the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
