Investment Realisation in First Half of 2026 Reaches IDR 1,010.6 Trillion, Absorbing 1.44 Million Workers
Investment realisation in Indonesia during the first half of 2026 reached IDR 1,010.6 trillion, growing 7.2 per cent compared to the same period last year. This achievement fulfils 49.5 per cent of this year’s national investment target of IDR 2,041.3 trillion.
Minister for Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani stated that the realisation indicates Indonesia is on the right track to meet its investment target for the whole of 2026. “Alhamdulillah, I can say here that the commitment of investors to invest directly in Indonesia remains in line with the targets set for 2026,” Rosan said during a press conference at the Presidential Office in Jakarta on Thursday.
In addition to recording investment growth, the realisation from January to June 2026 also absorbed 1.44 million workers, an increase of approximately 15 per cent compared to the first half of the previous year.
In terms of regional distribution, investment outside Java once again dominated. Investment realisation outside Java reached IDR 507.8 trillion, or 50.2 per cent of the total national investment, slightly higher than investment in Java, which amounted to IDR 502.8 trillion, or 49.8 per cent. According to Rosan, this condition reflects the government’s efforts to promote equitable economic development through the spread of investment to various regions outside Java.
Meanwhile, the composition of domestic and foreign investment in the first half of 2026 was recorded as relatively balanced. Domestic Direct Investment (PMDN) reached IDR 502.9 trillion, or 49.8 per cent of the total investment, whilst Foreign Direct Investment (PMA) amounted to IDR 507.6 trillion, or 50.2 per cent.
