Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) is strengthening collaboration with stakeholders in Central Sulawesi Province to accelerate the achievement of an investment target of Rp162.57 trillion in 2025.

Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Deputy Head of BKPM Todotua Pasaribu stated in Jakarta on Friday that the realisation target had been raised, given that the province successfully attracted Rp139.88 trillion in investment the previous year, surpassing its target by 128.27 per cent.

"Central Sulawesi Province has demonstrated exceptional performance with investment realisation of Rp139.88 trillion in 2024, exceeding the target by 128.27 per cent and ranking second nationally in foreign investment," he said.

The sectors contributing significantly to attracting investment in Central Sulawesi include base metals, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, mining, and industrial estates, with Morowali Regency as the primary contributor to investment realisation through the development of nickel downstreaming industries and electric vehicle battery ecosystems.

To accelerate investment achievement in the province, Todotua conducted a working visit to Palu, Central Sulawesi on 17 April. The visit began with a meeting with Central Sulawesi Governor Anwar Hafid, with the agenda focusing on developing investment potential in the province.

This was followed by a Consolidation Meeting on the 2025 Investment Realisation Target with regional government officials and heads of the One-Stop Investment and Integrated Services Offices (DPMPTSP) across Central Sulawesi.

In addition to collaborating with regional governments during the consolidation meeting, Deputy Minister Todotua also conducted a working visit to the Palu Special Economic Zone (SEZ) as part of an evaluation of infrastructure readiness and sustainable investment development potential in the area.

During the visit, Deputy Minister Todotua directly inspected several companies operating in the downstreaming sector, particularly in mining minerals for buton asphalt and copper commodities, as well as the plantation sector for pine resin commodities.

The companies inspected were PT Asbuton Jaya Abadi, which operates in the wholesale trade of solid, liquid and gas fuels with an investment value of Rp55.7 billion; PT Hong Thai Internasional, which processes pine resin with an investment value of Rp26.15 billion; and PT Wanhong Nonferrous Recycling Utilization, a company operating a copper smelter with an investment value of Rp296.2 billion.

The visit represents a concrete step by the central government to ensure the smooth running and sustainability of investment in this strategic area.

"We invite all stakeholders to make Central Sulawesi a model of investment synergy between the government, private sector, and the community," he said.
