Investment in Karawang Reaches Rp20.43 Trillion by Mid-Year
The Department of Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services (DPMPTSP) of Karawang Regency, West Java, has announced that investment realisation up to the middle of this year has reached Rp20.43 trillion.
“In general, the investment records for this year show a positive achievement,” said the Head of DPMPTSP Karawang, Iwan Ridwan, in Karawang on Friday.
He stated that this investment achievement demonstrates that Karawang remains a region capable of attracting investor interest. The presence of industrial estates, supported by robust infrastructure, serves as a primary reason for investors choosing Karawang.
From January to June 2026, investment realisation in Karawang reached Rp20.43 trillion, comprising both domestic and foreign investments. The value of foreign direct investment (PMA) accounted for approximately Rp15.95 trillion, while domestic investment (PMDN) contributed around Rp4.47 trillion.
Iwan noted that from this investment realisation, the labour absorption reached 15,030 people, consisting of 9,499 workers from foreign investment and 5,531 workers from domestic investment.
“The influx of this investment certainly helps in opening up employment opportunities for the community,” he added.
